  1. 1 Harry Potter had two god father's - Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

Sirius Black was Harry's only Godfather. James and Lily Potter had three best friends: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. However Sirius was the closest to James and thus was named godfather of their child. Sirius Black was never able to take care of Harry however as soon after James and Lily's death, Sirius was sent to Azkaban for Peter Pettigrew's crime.

  2. 2 Professor Snape always wanted to teach the subject: Defence Against the Dark Arts. Prof. Dumbledore however never let him. Professor Snape died without ever teaching the subject.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

During Harry's 6th year at Hogwarts, Prof. Snape was finally able to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts. It was believed that the Defence Against the Dark Arts post was cursed because no teacher lasted longer than a year. Some believe that was the reason for Prof. Dumbledore to deny Prof. Snape the post, while others believed that Prof. Dumbledore did not want to put Prof. Snape in a vulnerable position which he would have been in considering he was always so fond of the dark arts and yet, gave it up when he gave up being a death eater to save Lily Evans. Irrespective of the reasons however, Prof. Snape was awarded the position of the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor in Harry's 6th year at Hogwarts.

  3. 3 Harry had help from faculty members at Hogwarts who helped him win the Triwizard Tournament.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

Prof. Alastor Moody (impersonated by Party Crouch Junior), who was the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor for the year helped Harry throughout the Triwizard Tournament without Harry's knowledge. He hinted to Hagrid and to Cedric Diggory to give Harry a clue about the Dragons and the Golden Egg respectively. He also gave Neville Longbottom a book which told him that Harry could survive under water by digesting gillyweed, while trying to help him get through all the three barriers of the tournament. However, Neville never got to tell Harry about the uses of gillyweed.

  4. 4 Tom Riddle and Harry Potter were actually related. That is why Harry possessed the same gift as him of Parseltongue.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

Harry Potter and Tom Riddle were not related. Though some believe that they were the direct decedents of the the Peverell Brothers, the theory is yet to be confirmed. The reason Harry Potter possessed the Salazar Slytherine gift of Parseltongue was because when Tom Riddle tried to kill Harry and failed, he made Harry one of his Horcrux's thus giving him some of his powers unknowingly. Tom Riddle being a direct descendent of Salazar Slytherine possessed the gift since birth.

  5. 5 While learning Occlumency, Harry Potter once glanced into Prof. Snape's Pensieve and saw one of his memories with Harry's father- James Potter. Upon seeing the memory, Harry came to feel like his father was not a good person because of his cruel behaviour towards Prof. Snape.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

Upon seeing James bully Severus in front of the entire school, Harry started to believe that his father may not have been a good person. These doubts about his father's character were later cleared by Sirius Black.

  6. 6 Sirius Black never treated Harry as a child and always treated him like an adult because he was never able to see him as his best friend's son, but instead saw him as James himself. We see this when Sirius calls Harry 'James' while fighting the death eaters in the Ministry of Magic minutes prior to his death.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

Sirius Black was James Potter's best friend and was blamed for betraying and thus leading to the deaths of James and Lily Potter. He was accordingly prisoned in Azkaban until years later when he escaped. It is believed that Sirius Black was never able to accept that James Potter was killed, especially since James and Lily's killer ran free. Furthermore, since Harry looked so much like James, we see Sirius subconsciously thinking of Harry and treating him like his father- James.

  7. 7 Petunia Dursley was mean to Harry for his entire life because she was secretly jealous of Harry's mother- Lily for being a witch and being admitted to Hogwarts when Petunia wasn't.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

    J. K. Rowling explained that when Lily Evans received her Hogwarts letter, her parents were extremely proud and showered her will love and affection. This made Petunia extremely jealous. She thus wrote to Prof. Dumbledore to attain admission at Hogwarts too. Prof. Dumbledore however politely declined due to her lack of magical talent. Petunia Dursley was always thus jealous of her sister Lily who she believed was better off than her having gone to Hogwarts and having received the love of their parents. She is thus seen always treating Harry badly because of such contempt towards her sister.

  8. 8 J. K. Rowling initially intended to have Harry and Hermoine fall in love and end up together. She later changed her mind and had Ron and Hermoine fall in love and end up together while Harry ended up with Ginny.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

J.K. Rowling had initially planned to have Hermoine and Harry fall in love however later decided against it. She instead created a love story between Hermoine and Ron Weasley. She has later commented however that she regrets creating a love story between Hermoine and Ron.

  9. 9 One of Dudley Dursley's child ended up possessing magic and attending Hogwarts.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

One of the Harry Potter fandom came up with this thought and proposed it to J. K. Rowling who replied that while she had considered it, she believed that no magical gene which Petunia's side of the family could have possessed could have lasted while in contact with Vernon Dursley's genes. Accordingly she commented that while Dudley's kids were not wizards, Harry and Dudley's children often played together despite Harry's children possessing magic and Vernon's children being Muggles.

  10. 10 The Wizarding World realised that it is negligent of them to keep their existence a secret from all Humans except the Human Prime Minister. They accordingly sent one woman from the wizarding world to the muggle world to make the muggles understand the wizarding world and its complexities while accepting its existence. This woman wrote books about the wizarding world and sold them thus becoming an international best selling author. The woman was later relvealed to be J. K. Rolling.

    1. Real
    2. Not Real
    Correct!
    Wrong!

While one of the fans of the Harry Potter series came up with the theory that Harry Potter is a true story and J. K. Rolling is a wizard who has been sent into the muggle world to create awareness about the magical world, it is not be true. (Or atleast, has never been admitted by J. K. Rolling- the only person who know's the truth- to be true).
